We recently spent the day at the new Ronald McDonald House in Nedlands, giving back to our local community. With the team out in force, we rolled up our sleeves and got busy in the kitchen cooking up some tasty food for well deserving families currently living out at Ronald McDonald House. The day was full of laughs as we learnt who takes control in the kitchen and questioned if some had ever cooked before. Overall, it was an extremely rewarding day for the team as we got to chat to the volunteers there and some of the families there and find out a little bit about what Ronald McDonald house does.
Ronald McDonald House is a home away from home for families who have to travel over 100km from home to obtain specialist medical care for their sick child. Families can stay anywhere from 1 day to years, depending on how long their child is in hospital. Ronald McDonald house helps alleviate some of the pressure placed on these families with a sick child, not having to come home and worry about what to cook or make sure the house is clean, the Nedlands house has over 200 volunteers that clean, cook and offer a friendly face.
