How much deposit do I need for a Perth investment property?

Most lenders require at least a 10% deposit for an investment loan, with Lenders Mortgage Insurance applying above 80% LVR. Some lenders extend to 90% for strong-profile investors. The right deposit depends on your existing portfolio leverage, rental income coverage and overall serviceability across all properties.

Is interest on investment loans tax-deductible?

Generally yes. Interest on borrowings used to acquire an income-producing property is tax-deductible against the rental income, in line with ATO rules.
